Chicago’s Columbia Yacht Club facility is a former Canadian ice cutting ferry. They have a ham (amateur) radio club there that converted the ship’s radio room into a ham station.

The ham radio club’s recruitment strategy is novel. I cannot decide whether the message is that ham radio is a stand-up kind of hobby or that being a ham means that you are pissing your life away . . .
