Off the coast of Edenton, NC, there once lived a famous clam digger named Sam, carrying buckets of clams he called “Steamers”. Sam the Clam digger was a huge baseball fan in the 1950s. Years later, the Edenton Steamers were created, a collegiate-level summer baseball team.
