Two years of scouring boats for sale from typical and skeptical sources, vetting hundreds that made our rolling excel spreadsheet #1 (worthy)/#2 (possible but lacking critical information/ #6 (janky)/ #5(sold), and onboard site visits in FL and SoCal. Off to see two #1’s within 24 hours of setting foot in Chicago. First boat Proud Mary owner said when they found their boat “You know it when you see it.” I wasn’t seeing it. 12 hours drive to northern nowheresville Michigan, climbed up a ladder inside heated boat storage…Hell YES! This is our boat.
