Stamford is the only US city that borders its neighboring state (NY) going due north, east, south and west. Unlike New Haven, Stamford is the 16th safest city in the nation.  Other notable Stamford factoids: Retains perfect score from the Human Rights Campaign for LGBT-friendly policies since 2016; home of Harry Houdini; Joe Lieberman, U.S. Senator and 2000 VP nominee, Gilda Radner comedian, actress, wife of Gene Wilder, actor and director.
